For individuals who are seeking treatment other than Residential, Day Treatment or Intensive Outpatient, The Renfrew Center offers the following outpatient services:
Group therapy, both short-term and long-term, covers a wide variety of issues including anorexia, bulimia, emotional eating, binge eating, substance abuse, depression, sexuality, sexual abuse, relationships, family, careers and life changes.
Virtual Therapy Groups
Online, telehealth therapy groups actively engage participants with each other to explore the emotions and relational functions of their disordered eating. Individuals also develop strategies to improve their communication skills and achieve recovery focused goals. Group curriculum is informed by the empirically based Renfrew Center Unified Treatment Model for Eating Disorders®. This type of therapy is available to individuals residing in California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, and Texas.
Individual, Family and Couples Therapy
Experienced psychologists and social workers are available for treatment sessions to address eating disorders, depression, anxiety, body image and self-esteem issues in addition to the effects of physical, emotional or sexual trauma.
Registered dietitians with specialized training in the treatment of eating disorders are available for individual consultation. Nutritional therapy is tailored to individual needs and can help to address the challenges of weight restoration and re-establishing healthy eating patterns.
